Document list
I work out which documents your situation needs, and plan where each comes from and in what order.
This is the most critical stage after your acceptance letter. The process runs in sequence, and a delay at one step pushes every later one back.
Immigration and residence rules can change, so the information here is a general guide. Current requirements must be checked against the official sources of the Lithuanian Migration Department (Migracijos departamentas) before you apply. This page is not legal or immigration advice.
This service is not legal or immigration advice. Assessing and deciding official applications is within the authority of the relevant institutions. What I provide is practical organisation of the process and keeping it in the right order.
Sequence
University acceptance comes first. Without an acceptance letter there is no student-status application to make — which is why the application calendar and the permit calendar are tied together.
After acceptance the documents are prepared: passport, acceptance letter, accommodation details, health insurance and proof of means usually appear on the list. What exactly is asked for can vary by year and situation, so we check the list against the official source together.
Then the application goes in and the appointment calendar is set. The most common problem at this stage is missing an appointment because a translation or certification came through late.
Common mistakes
Sworn translation, notary and apostille run in sequence and each takes days. Build the timeline backwards.
Insurance is usually part of the file. Remembered late, it holds everything up.
Being asked for an address before you have found a place is a frequent bottleneck.
In busy periods appointments slip weeks out. Early planning is the single biggest advantage.
My role
I work out which documents your situation needs, and plan where each comes from and in what order.
Application, translation, certification and appointment dates planned backwards into one calendar.
Where it helps we go to appointments together; I'm there on the language and bureaucracy side.
Tell me where you are with acceptance and which intake you're aiming for; we'll map out what happens each month.
We are not a government body
Study in Lithuania is an independent, privately owned education consultancy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government authority, embassy, consulate, the Lithuanian Migration Department (Migracijos departamentas), VFS Global or any university. We do not issue, obtain, expedite or guarantee visas, residence permits or any other official document, and we cannot influence any authority’s decision. Every official application is filed by the student in their own name with the competent authority — we provide information, guidance, translation and practical support only. Official state fees are paid directly to the authority concerned and are not included in our consultancy fee.
